The summer heat is over with the occasional rain showers saturating the heat islands of the city. It is once again time for your heavy duty umbrellas to get handy in case of a sudden downpour.

Just a word of advice: Do not scrimp on cheap umbrellas, such as those peddled for 50 pesos at MRT / LRT stations. They are "obviously" disposable. Try to invest in branded ones since they are really worth it. Better yet, buy umbrellas that have plastic ribs, shaft, runner and stretchers since they do not tend to rust even if you forget leaving them open to dry.
