Another year has passed, and here we go again for another culture overload.

SHOOT and SCOOT PH was at the Toy Con 2013 yesterday, June 15, 2013 at around 6:00pm. As usual, fans of different pop cultures converged at the SM Megamall Megatrade Halls. Different items, old and new, from different influences flooded the halls, and there was no doubt that every ticket sold was worth it.

Some might say that it was "same o, same o," but there were a lot of new eye candies at the convention. One thing that was noticeable there was the heavier load of American comic characters at the exhibits and at the selling area compared to last year's.

DC Comics and Marvel Comics still dominated most of the characters present at the event. Gundams and other Japanese characters were still there, but there was really a very visible force from the Americans this year. In addition, Warner Bros. Philippines heavily promoted two of their films, Man of Steel, and Pacific Rim, at the convention.

Now, let's get this show on the road.

What made this year's convention special for SHOOT and SCOOT PH?

The faces of the actors who played the roles of specific characters in a movie can already be featured in an action figure with 99.9% accuracy. This is not new because this was already showcased in last year's convention. However, this year, there were more action figures on display which featured undeniable likeness to the actors who portrayed them.

WARNING!: You will see striking resemblances as you scroll down.

Aside from comic, movie, and TV characters, famous public figures are already being sculpted into action figures.

...and the one and only Philippine cosplay queen Alodia Gosiengfiao.

SHOOT and SCOOT PH will be publishing another post, exclusively for more of Alodia's photos. Please hang in there as we prepare the post.

The convention this year still proved to be different with more developments compared to last year's. Congratulations to all the organizers, exhibitors, and participants of Toy Con 2013 for a job well done. Still, you guys impressed SHOOT and SCOOT PH.

To wrap it up, the fish fillet  was really tasty. See you again next year.
