A new batch of MRT tickets is out once again. SHOOT and SCOOT PH is very lucky to be handed one of these limited edition (for now) cards. The new cards depict a line drawing an MRT train with vector designs which is more colorful than the previously released new generation cards approximately 2 months ago.

SHOOT and SCOOT PH is not trying to be a doomsday fear monger since the infamous Mayan long-count calendar is supposed to end in less than a month. Some believe that a cataclysmic cosmic event would occur on December 21, 2012 - the date when this Mayan long-count calendar ends. As Charlie Frost from the movie 2012 said "The bible calls this the apocalypse, Christians call it the rapture, the I-Ching... the end of the world my friend."

Halloween is getting more and more popular in the Philippines. A mall chain in the Philippines has displayed piles of jack-o-lanterns and other spooky characters for this event in one of their branches.

New stored value tickets are being issued at the MRT once again. SHOOT and SCOOT PH had a chance to be handed out one of these new cards.

Bicol's Pride (Orgullo Kan Bikol - OKB 2012)

Orgullo Kan Bikol (OKB) or "Bicol's Pride," as translated in English, is a trade fair happening from October 4 to October 7, 2012 at the SM Megamall Megatrade Hall 2. This event showcases the products of the cities and the towns from provinces in the Bicol Region (Region 5).

The entrance fee is only 10 pesos, and you get to see (and buy) things from the colorful culture and heritage of the land of sugar, spice, and everything nice.

With The Lights Out

One of the towers of the BSA Twin Towers in Ortigas Center had its lights out at around 6:00pm today. Several minutes earlier, the towers were simultaneously displaying their distinctive light show when one of them suddenly stopped. Something like this does not happen everyday so this shot was taken for documentation.

Here's a snapshot of Ortigas Center at around 6:00pm today just after the rain this late afternoon. The center was just starting to turn its lights on at the time this photo was taken.

Fish Be With You

SHOOT and SCOOT PH went to a local fish market to find the freshest catch and to snag some fish for dinner. While waiting for the fishmonger to take my choices of fruits de mer, I managed to snap some photos of what's in store.

SHOOT and SCOOT PH sends its greetings to all of its friends in Legazpi City who are celebrating Ibalong Festival 2012.

From August 3-31, 2012, the Bicolano epic "Ibalon" comes to life in the Ibalong Festival 2012. This festival started several decades back and has been celebrated yearly in Legazpi City and in the whole province of Albay eversince. Now, the whole region takes part in the festivities, and everyone is welcome to join the revelry.

This is the BSA Twin Towers located at St. Francis Square, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City, Philippines. This photo was taken from Annapolis St., Greenhills, San Juan City on a rainy evening. These towers are just one of the many twin towers / twin buildings within Ortigas Center and the entire Metro Manila.

Tropical Storm Kai-Tak / Bagyong Helen

It was a soggy and a windy day today all over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon due to Tropical Storm Kai-Tak, locally known as Bagyong Helen. According to the latest news, the said weather disturbance will have a landfall tomorrow, and it is expected to intensify the southwest monsoon (habagat) which will cause more sudden downpours, such as what happened this afternoon at around 2:30pm.

I still had to go to work this afternoon even if the sky was raining like a boss because of the southwest monsoon (habagat) that was being pulled in by Typhoon Haikui. I could have excused myself if I didn't want to report, but I really liked to go and see what has been going on outside lately. So, I prepped up my gear and went out for an adventure.
